Kit comes with a Universal Angle Guide, 3-400 grit abrasive belts, 3-600 grit abrasive belts, 3-800 grit abrasive belts, 3-1000 grit abrasive belts, 1-1" x 30" leather honing belt, and 1-1 oz. polishing compound stick. The Surgi-Sharp Universal Angle Guide turns the standard 1" sander into a very precise sharpening machine. The angle guide slides onto the platen, the metal bar that is just behind the sanding belt. The guide is held in place by a very strong spring. The sanding belt operates between the the base and the angle table. The guide will provide you with sharpening angles between 10 to 45 degrees. Provided is an angle guide chart to assist in choosing the correct angle for each tool. Choose one of the Surgi-Sharp honing systems to deburr and hone to a surgical edge, it doesn't get any sharper than this. The 1" x 30" Surgi-Sharp leather honing belt is manufactured from top quality shoulder leather. The joints are smooth and stronger than the surrounding leather. The Belts are manufactured smaller than sanding belts to provide for the natural stretch of leather. They will fit very snug when initially installed. Buffing compound is applied to the belt according to the instructions on the packaging. Some kits come with buffing compound or you can use one that suits your needs. The belts are well suited for many polishing jobs in addition to the outstanding job they do honing tools and knives.
